Bondi Beach Mens Swimwear lifestyle photography

Last week I was hired to photograph a men’s lifestyle swimwear campaign at Bondi Beach. The client was producing their very first shoot and wanted a creative direction inspired by the classic look of 1960s photography. While I usually focus on lifestyle, food, interiors, and product photography, I loved the challenge of bringing a retro visual style into a modern beach shoot.

To achieve the look, I used portable flash on location, exposed for the highlights, and added a subtle vintage feel to the RAW captures. Shooting tethered to my laptop allowed the client to view the images in real time and refine details like framing, orientation, and how the shots would be used for web and social media.

Whenever I’m on location, I come fully prepared — two cameras, spare batteries, dual laptops, portable flash gear, and everything needed to keep the shoot running smoothly. This ensures no matter the conditions, we capture strong, consistent images.

Before we began, I spent time researching the brand and its aesthetic. The swimwear label Lobby’s draws its spirit from men who carried themselves with quiet confidence — the kind found under open skies and on sunlit decks. Bringing that feeling into the photography helped shape the tone, posture, and mood of each frame. Lobby’s https://lobbysaustralia.com
